Flintlock Boxlock Over-and-Under Tap-action Pistol signed ‘BALK’, Doncaster, early 19th Century, 54-bore with 2 ¾ in. turn-off barrels numbered '2' and '3' respectively at the breeches and fitted with a locking spring bayonet beneath, border engraved brass action with Tower private proof marks, engraved ‘BALK’ to one side and ‘Doncaster’ over within an oval against a martial trophy background, sliding safety, sliding trigger-guard, slab sided wooden butt stamped '1366' on one side, 7 ¾ in. length, probably made in London for retail by Balk in Doncaster.
