Pair of side hammer, boxlock, percussion pocket pistols, unnamed, housed in their original fitted mahogany case, with all accessories. The pistols are breach loading with screw off, rifled barrels, which retain most of the original blue. The brass boxlocks are profusely scroll decorated, without wear. The side hammers and trigger guards are similarly decorated and retain much of the original colour hardening, the walnut butts are finely chequered, the chequering being extremely crisp and without wear and have a vacant shield shaped silver escutcheon. the barrels and breaches bear post 1813 Birmingham proof marks. the pistols are in fine overall condition. Barrel length is 3" inches, total length 8" inches. Accessories which appear original to the case include lozenge shaped copper & brass powder flask, 50 bore bullet mould, turn screw, tin containing percussion caps and another tin for patches, key for case, pewter oil bottle, duel purpose barrel and nipple key, 24 bore wire cutter, etc. A Collectors piece
