GB - historic royalty, Free mourning cover signed Munster - 1st Earl of Munster, an English peer hence entitled to free post, eldest illegitimate son of King William IV addressed to Lady Augusta FitzClarence (his illegitimate daughter) at Lord Egremont’s estate at Petworth Sussex. King died 20 June 1837 when his niece Victoria became Queen (as illicit people were not permitted into the monarchy). This mourning envelope is backstamped Brighton July 13 1837 postmark. Seal removed, some staining and wear.
