French Percussion Rifle, no Military Markings, above average quality walnut stock, brass barrel bands, iron trigger guard, original tulip ramrod. Large heavy hammer, graduated rear-sight (ladder missing) stock stamped with retailers address "Reilly Oxford Street London" in tiny letters, many of these rifles were exported to the USA during the American Civil War 1861-65. These rifles had to have all military marks removed before they could be sold. This is a hugh piece, barrel .750 calibre, 42" long. Back action lock in crisp w/order. Collector grade piece
