Extremely fine French Napoleonic era officers sword with a "Rooster Pommel.". Fine blued, silver & gilt blade with stand of arms and floral decoration. Wirebound wood or leather grip in very good condition. Blade approximately 30", single edged with period deep blue, gilt & silver decoration. Sword in its brass mounted leather scabbard (some crazing). Gilt stirrup guard with leaf/flower quillon finial. Quality casting of a rooster's head makes an impressive pommel. The sword is unmarked and undated. The rooster pommel & blade decorations are features of some French Napoleonic swords. Viewing is recommended. Superb collector piece.
