Pistol - a scarce WW2 Colt Model 1911, .45 Calibre Automatic, left slide, frame with patent dates to 1913 and "Colts PT. F.A.MFG.Co. Hartford. CT. USA". Right frame marked "United States Property M1911 A1 U.S.Army" and the Serial Number 761385 which dates it to 1942 (USMC Issue 1942 SN:756734 to 800,000). In good overall condition with service wear, minor pitting to slide. Dull combat refinish, good chequered grips, grip safety. One of the most iconic handguns of the 20th Century, universally used in operations against the Japanese in the Pacific, and the Germans in Europe. (slide works, magazine ejects, etc. With inspectors stamps). With current Deactivation Certificate.
