Pattern 1895 infantry officer’s sword by thurkle, with 33 in. single-edged blade half-fullered and etched on both sides, ricasso with ‘proved’ plug on one side and ‘e. thurkle / maker / soho / london’ over, guard with vr cypher, wire-bound fish-skin grip, together with its brown leather field scabbard. blade and guard with ‘salt & pepper’ staining, scabbard worn.
