GB - an 1848 Charles Whiting Beaufort House (Strand, London) Congreve Composite Essay. Four designs on an embossed leaf taken from the 1848 Art Union Journal. Reverse with red and green printed panel "For Protection Against Forgery". Some light wear to the edges and minor foxing noted (essays not affected). Scarce. (approx 9"x11" inches)
