Scarce Great War SMLE Volley Sight service rifle, made in 1915 by the B.S.A.Co, Socket marked "Crown, GR, BSA Co 1915 Sht L.E.III". Rear peep sight and forward dial sight, serial number '97206' on the breech, rear sight, nose cao, and woodwork which is marked "EY" and "DP". The MkIII Volley Sight model was in front line use from August 1914 to mid 1916 when it was gradually replaced by the new MkIII. Good walnut stock. With Current Certificate of Deactivation
