£70 - £80
Pattern 1853 Socket Bayonet for the Enfield Rifle converted for use as in the film ‘Revolution’, circa 1860s, with 17 in. triangular blade fullered on each side, ricasso stamped with 'EFD' and Birmingham inspection mark, together with a black leather Belgian Army scabbard stamped with a regimental roll number of '372' and dated 1884. The socket has been split and a jubilee clip fitted to allow fixing to different barrel sizes. This was done by armourers working on the 1985 film 'Revolution' (starring Al Pacino and Donald Sutherland, shot in King's Lynn and Thetford Forest), who bought socket bayonets from local antique shops and converted them to fit the film prop muskets.
