First operational sortie Dec 1943 Leipzig, over next 6 months flew 30 sorties including 5 over Berlin, medically unfit to fly on 30/3/1944 when his crew were shot down on the Nuremburg Raid (his Pilot awarded the CGM) his DFM awarded 19/9/1944.
