GB - 1840 Penny black, Plate 8, K-A, four good margins. The stamp has been franked with a green Maltese Cross. According to Stanley Gibbons Collect British Postmarks (page 96) a green franking was not used on an 1840 Penny Black, making this an interesting research piece.
