Knife - 3rd pattern F.S.Knife with ribbed grip (27 ribs). Pommel with cast number '1'. Blade 6.75", service wear overall. Elastic retaining strap missing, in its original leather scabbard, with brass chape. Knife dates to 1943. This piece carried during WW2 operations by Sgt S Taylor 7th Bn Parachute Regt. With notes on his service, served D-Day landing by Glider at Ouistreham. (see Taylors medal group in this sale)
