Portuguese 8mm Styer Mauser-Kropatschek Model 1886/89 infantry rifle, circa 1890s bolt-action rifle built for Portugal by Styer of Austria, trigger guard pistol grip spur, side mounted cleaning rod, complete with clip-on handguard and original period sling. Good stock and working action. The Model 1886/89 is known as the Colonial Variant due to the handguard, which was fitted to rifles issued to colonial troops to reduce the effect of radiated barrel heat in hot climates causing sighting difficulties. Converted to fire shot and subsequently deactivated to EU specifications with certificate.
