Sir John Everett Millais Bt. PRA (1829 - 1896). A rare example of an original early childhood drawing by this famous childhood prodigy, of a profile of young woman. In 1840, at age 11, Millais became the youngest artist ever admitted to the Royal Academy. Signed and dated by the artist, 'John Everett Millais, aged 8 years, 8th June 1837. Shows evidence of a written sentence below, mainly lost by water damage, though a name is still visible, possibly the name of the sitter (Nichola Parr..?). Marked with foxing across the bridge of the nose. Time-worn paper fold creases evident. Measures approx 34cm x 27cm
