Pattern 1863 Yataghan Sword Bayonet for the Whitworth Short Rifle circa 1864, with 23 in. steel blade fullered on each side, ricasso with crown and 'VR', Enfield ‘E / crown / 33’ inspection mark over and further inspection marks on blade and hilt back, steel hilt with good, black chequered pressed leather grips, both with inspection marks, cylindrical mortice slot, together with its black leather scabbard with steel fittings, 28 3/4in. overall.
