Zambia, Bank of Zambia 1 Pound unissued PROOF, this was a proposed design for the newly formed Bank of Zambia. Designed by Harrison & Sons Ltd., London, the design was never adopted due to the end of British Colonial rule in 1964 causing Royal portraits to become obsolete. It has a fictional date of 52th Date 1963 and a sample signature and serial number, serial Y/8 822984 (TBB B100p1, PickA1) Uncirculated, extremely rare and a spectacular example without cancellation holes or perforations, very few examples ever seen, this note has come from a group of Waterlow & Sons and Harrison & Sons material from Stanley Douglas Scott who worked as an engraver at both companies.
