Suffolk Volunteers WW1 period silver cigarette box, hallmarked Birm 1917 (marks a bit rubbed). Inscription on lid reads "Presented to 2/Lt. G.R.A. Smith 1/8 Essex Regt. By the Officers of the Suffolk Volunteers on the occasion of his marriage, Bawdsey, 15th August, 1918". Gross weight of box (includes wooden interior) - 13.5oz approx.
