An original document registering the birth of an infant as a new slave in the Cape of Good Hope, Cape Town, dated 26th July 1819, document reads 'Office for the Enregisterment of Slaves..., These are to certify, that a male infant named Salie born on the 28th September 1819 whose mother is named Roselyn aged now about 28 3/4 years, born in this Colony by trade a Cook', 20cm x 11cm approx.
