1915 Star named (7981 Pte L Aien Sea.Highrs) with much research stored on a cd. Born Leith, Edinburgh, surname of Norwegian origin, and unique to Scotland on period Census reports, enlisted 1907 with the 1st Bn and sent to India, he took part in the Mohmand Expedtion 1908 and qualified for the IGS with NWF 1908 clasp, invalided out 1909. Re-enlisted Oct 1914 into the 9th Bn, to France 1915 however after being buried alive he was deemed to be suffereing from Shell Shock and was sent home 1916. (1)
