Dragoon pattern, 10 Bore, Military percussion Pistol circa 1840. Round barrel 8", with proof and view marks. Enfield lock, marked Crown (QV ?), tails of lock "Tower Proof". Pistol most likely a conversion of a 1796 pattern 10 Bore Dragoon Pistol. Large "D" stamped to base of plain walnut bag shaped grip. Full stocked, crisp lock on 1st and 2nd cock, New Land pattern brass sideplate. Attractive piece
