German Nazi Luftwaffe 1940 dated Walther Signal / Flare Pistol. 27mm blackened alloy half octagonal barrel with Waffen stamps to the side. Frame bears Walther banner and dated 1940, steel trigger guard and barrel release catch. Brown composite chequered slab grips. Comes with current 2015 Deact Certificate. Some research with the item offers the following :- 'This pistol was liberated by a young boy from the crash of JU 188 (E/A JU188B3+CK of 2./KG54) at Hildenborough Kent. The Junker was shot down on the night of 14/15 March 1944 by a Mosquito (NF XIII HK521) flown by the American Ace Lt A A 'Archie' Harrington a USAF Pilot detachment to 410 Sqdn RCAF.
