Holburne (Sir Francis, 1704-1771). An original two-sided manuscript document, signed by Francis Holburne, dated 5th April 1757, document is for the Appointment by Holburne (when he was Admiral) of Mr Alexander Cunningham as Surgeon's Second Mate on his Majesty's Ship Newark, 19cm x 20cm approx., document tipped-in onto card for display purposes. Holburne was an Admiral, Member of Parliament, Commodore and Commander-in-Chief at the Leeward Islands.
