Medal diameter 33mm, weight 22.5g of hallmarked 9 carat gold. Dated on the rim 1996 -1997. Reverse 'The Football Association Challenge Cup. Runners up.'. Made by J.R.Gaunt & Son. Contained in it's original fitted case, presented on the day to Clayton Blackmore. The red case lettered in gold 'FA Challenge Cup Runners Up'. Provenance Graham Budd Auctions. Note FA Cup medals are becoming extremely rare, due to current players being highly unlikely to sell their medals. Clayton Blackmore played for Manchester United winning the Premier League 1992/3, FA Cup 1889-90, Charity Shield 1990, Euro Cup Winners Cup 1990-91 and Euro Super Cup 1991 before moving to Middlesborough where he won the Football League 1st Division 1994/5 and appeared in the FA and League Cup Finals as Runner up.
