Neoclassical Statue of Aeneas and Anchises with Ascanius (after Pierre Lepautre, French 1660 1744), a large and very heavy gilt bronze of Aeneas flight from the ruins of Troy with his father and son. The elderly Anchises holding a sacred temple idol. On a solid rectangular base. Hight 21 inches. These bronze reproductions were made for collectors during the 19th century. This piece being a high quality example, numbered 3322.
