Original prototypes of 'Walking Ware' design, hand made by Michelle Roger and Danke Napiorkowska, circa 1974. This set comprising teapot, sugar bowl and two cups was hand made by the artists themselves before they went into production with their company Lustre Pottery ,Malton .The design was later sold to Carltonware and went into mass production in the 1980's. Commercial production ceased in 1981. One similar hand made tea pot can be found on display in the Ceramics Room 140 at the V&A .
