Powder horns, three good modern cow-horn reproductions, being 1) copy of a 1759 north american horn, heavily etched with a royal coat-of-arms, a map of the quebec settlement, the message ‘powder & ball. will cause a fall'. / to french & indin gall. / lt. a.h.fortescue. his horn pass on’ and ‘ao. / 13 ye septr. 1759’, wooden stopper and wooden base with suspension loop, approx 18 in. overall; 2) copy dated 1772, with horn stopper, wooden base with threaded horn plug, copper rims and suspension band with loop, inscribed ‘alex mcnabb / his horn / anno. 1772’, approx. 13 in.; 3) copy of mid-19th century horn, sprung brass nozzle with suspension loop, wood base with brass rim and threated horn stopper, approx 11 in.; all in good, clean condition with little, if any, use.
