WW2 group attributed to Lieut (285596) Francis William Salmon 1st (Airborne) Battn The Border Regt. 1939-45 Star, France & Germany Star, Defence & War Medals + minitures. With much original Officer Cadet Training paperwork and research. Salmon was promoted from Cadet to 2nd Lt in the RA L/G 24/8/1943, transfered to The Border Regt as Substantive Lieut 22/1/1944 L/G 31/3/1944. The battalion were used operationally landing by Glider on 17/9/44 - 26/9/44 Operation Market Garden, and later Operation Doomsday May 1945. (Qty)
