Paget .650 Flintlock Volunteer Carbine by Westley Richards, circa 1815, with 15 7/8 in. sighted barrel engraved 'WESTLEY RICHARDS', clear Birmingham proof-marks, floral engraved barrel tang, border and scroll-engraved stepped lock with sliding safety, signed with an engraved 'WESTLEY RICHARDS', ring-necked hammer with scroll-engraving, steel butt-plate with scroll-engraved tang, trigger-guard with pineapple finial and scroll-engraving, captive rammer, walnut stock with chequered wrist and horn nose-cap, crisp action, shallow oblong cut-out along the wrist ridge, (likely an inset for a removed silver presentation plaque), 31 in. overall, a quality piece.
