Anglo-Saxon silver penny of Edward the Confessor, Facing Bust / Small Cross type, S.1183, 1.03g. Obverse reads:- +EDPARED REX, with typical Northern bust, no neck and resting on crescent, lined with pellets, cross on King's crown made up of four pellets, reverse reads:- +OÐGRIM ON EOFRP, York Mint, moneyer Othgrim (a Norse moneyer). Annulet in field 11 o'clock rev. Chipped either side but good portrait, toned VF. Ex Lockdales A76 L1010.
