Fighting knife made from a Pattern 1888 Wilkinson bayonet, blade 6.5", ricasso marked "VR" "8.91" and "Wilkinson London". Reverse with "WD" and arrow, bend test mark. A knuckle guard has been added with 5 other studs. Markings to pommel "8 WR" (possibly 8th Bn Worcester Regt) and top of guard. Knife contained in a cut down 1888/1903 Pattern scabbard (1903 Mk1) with a Pattern 1914 leather frog (worn overall). The work on this piece is of a high standard, vendor states probably used by Home Guard during WW2
