Doulton Lambeth jug made for John Mortlock & Co. London commemorating Fred Archer c 1886 with a portrait of the jockey and inscribed "Reft from our midst by untimely fate, pledge me his spirit before we sup, pledge me one who through life was straight, straight as he rode for the plate or cup Ah! death's pale horse must have felt elate, as he sped through the shadows with "Archer Up". An inverted jockey cap forming a spout, the handle moulded with horse tack.
