Spanish Mexico silver 8 Reales 1798 Mo - a shipwreck piece with encrustation and porosity, otherwise GF in places. This from the wreck of H.M. Frigate Lutine which foundered off the coast of Holland in 1799; with a case and certificate by Lloyd's, London, issued in the 1940s, with a personal message on the back of the cert. Handwriting matches a signature on the front of the cert, that of Eustace R. Pulbrook - the Chairman of Lloyd's at the time. The coat of arms on the lid would link this with Lloyd's shipping insurance activities, therefore we infer that these cased shipwreck pieces were Sir Eustace Pulbrook's personal "calling cards".
