Scotland, North of Scotland Banking Company 1 Pound dated 21st November 1836 this being the first day the bank opened for business, the very FIRST note issued by the Bank, serial number 1/2, annotation on the reverse of this notes states this is the first bank note ever issued by the North of Scotland Banking Company, serial number 1/1 was issued after this and retained by a senior bank member and is now held in the Clydesdale Bank's archive (PMS NS1a, PickS611), stuck to a card border around the edges on the reverse, still showing the entire reverse design and annotations, ink burns, generally Fine and an exceptionally rare opportunity to own this fantastic piece of Banking history
